Leadership Skills that Shape and Keep a World Class Safety Culture

  • Presented by Joyce Schroeder, Senior Consultant with Culture Change Consultants, this panel covered the power that leadership, at all levels, has in shaping a culture of safety. Focusing not simply on numbers but beliefs and attitudes that effect the way we look and safety.
  • Safety Inspections

  • Presented by Terry Guidry, Senior Loss Manager with AEU, this panel focused on the importance of Safety Inspections, why they are required and ways to improve our own current inspections process.
  • Employment Law

  • Presented by Stephen Nakata, Managing Partner with Laughlin, Falbo, Levy & Moresi LLP, this panel dealt with the differences in employment and Workers’ Compensation claims, focusing on the importance of documentation and communication at all levels to ensure that all claims are dealt with fairly and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Expanding Safety Goals

  • Presented by Jason Lake, Loss Control Manager with AEU, this presentation focused on using the S.M.A.R.T. goal setting techniques to drill down and set appropriate safety goals for all organization levels.
  • Leadership Training Experience

  • Presented by Cory Sause, VP of Health & Environmental, Deron Eunice, Safety Manager and Allen Larkin, Welder and Carpenter – Sause Bros.

    This panel discussed challenges of improving a safety culture, the value of leadership at all levels and the value of incremental changes to constantly strengthen and improve our safety culture. These issues were addressed from the viewpoint of Upper and Middle Management as well as the front line employees.
